Why AgriCaptureCO2?

Agriculture is key to solving the climate crisis.

Agricultural soils have a big potential to capture and store carbon, when the right regenerative practices are used. However, farmers will need both support and incentives to adopt this new way of farming.

This is what AgriCaptureCO2, a project building a community, aims to deliver.

AgriCaptureCO2 is developing an innovative, robust, and scalable solution to measure carbon capture in soil.

By combining satellite images with farmers’ data and soil samples, we aim to make soil carbon measurement more accurate and cheaper than ever before. This will allow farmers to easily track how their efforts in the field are translating into increased carbon in their soils – and will help farmers get paid for their results.

The project will also support and accompany farmers on the journey to regenerative agriculture by building a community of practice. Through webinars, on-farm debates, farm demonstration days and more, AgriCaptureCO2 will facilitate exchange between farmers, scientists, businesses, and other relevant actors, as well as peer-to-peer knowledge sharing between farmers.

The ultimate goal: to promote regenerative agriculture as a solution in the fight against climate change while providing agronomic and economic benefits for farmers.
