Regenerative agriculture in the EU and UK: policies to help farmers transition
Regenerative farming practices can hugely improve soil health, with great benefits for farmers as well as climate and biodiversity. But it can be quite a big jump for farmers to experiment with and adopt these new practices. Farmers certainly need sound policies to support them in this transformational journey.
The AgriCaptureCO2 project is exploring the role of agricultural policies in supporting farmers in the transition to regenerative practices. It also looks at the potential of voluntary carbon credits and other private funding models aimed at rewarding farmers for their efforts.
Join us on 22nd September 15h-17h CET / 14h-16h GBT to explore how the EU and UK’s new farm and climate policies should best support farmers to reduce emissions on their farms and turn their land into carbon sinks, turning farmers into the (climate) heroes of our times.
Policy experts from the European Union and the UK are mapping the current policy landscape and reflect on how these could support farmers adopt regenerative practices. We are particularly keen to hear the thoughts of farmers, and also of practitioners, policy stakeholders, and decision-makers on these important questions.
